‘Feeling Lucky’ Contest official rules
No purchase necessary. A purchase will not improve chances of winning.
This promotion begins on May 20, 2007 and ends at midnight on Sunday, July 15, 2007. This contest is open to legal Canadian residents (excluding Quebec) who are 18 years of age as of the date of entry and who are planning to marry before September 30, 2007, except employees (and their immediate families) of Family Communications; Caribbean Tourism Organization; VoX International and their affiliate companies (the “Sponsors”).
To enter, write a 110 character or less ‘one-liner’ description of why you love the Caribbean that may be used in future promotions. Submit your entry online by going to www.canadianbride.com, or www.caribbeanweek.ca anytime between May 01 and July 15, 2007 and completing the online registration process.
Only one entry per couple, per e-mail or per mailing address is allowed. Entries that are late, lost, illegible, misdirected, damaged, garbled or incompletely received for any reason, including by reason of network failure, malfunction, congestion or incompatibility at Sponsors' servers or elsewhere will not be eligible. Sponsors, at their sole discretion, reserve the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the website or otherwise in violation of the rules. In the event there is a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting the electronic entry, the entrant will be deemed to be the person in whose name the email account is registered, provided that person meets all eligibility requirements. Sponsors further reserve their right to cancel, terminate or modify any part of the promotion not capable of completion as planned, including by reason of force majeure, infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failure of any sort.
Selection Process - The finalists will be required to submit a brief biography, an eligibility questionnaire, photo of themselves with their fiancé (e) for publicity purposes, and be interviewed by telephone. Judges will select one Grand Prize winner from among the five finalists on or about July 20, 2007. One Grand Prize winner will be chosen on or about July 27, 2007 and notified by phone or mail. Participants agree to be bound by these rules and all decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all respects. All entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be acknowledged or returned. One Grand Prize winner will receive the following prizes with approximate retail values noted and must be accepted as awarded:
Wedding to be performed by a Justice of the Peace at The
Fall Toronto Travel Show held in the Toronto International Center on Saturday,
September 29, 2007. The approximate retail value of the entire wedding of more
than $7,500 includes:
- The bride’s dress (approx. retail value $1,200) as provided by Today’s Bride magazine.
- The groom’s tuxedo rental (approx. retail value $120) as provided by Today’s Bride Magazine.
- A Champagne and Wedding Cake reception for the couple and up to 20 friends and family. (approx. retail value $1,000).
- The services of a professional travel agent to help plan your honeymoon (approximate retail value $100).
- Your choice of a 7 night Caribbean honeymoon prize package with inclusions as outlined by the resort and airfare from Toronto from this selection of Caribbean Islands provided shortly. (approx. retail value $5,000).
- Travel Insurance provided by AIG Travel Guard Canada (approx. retail value $100).
- Bride and groom will also be the guests of the Caribbean Tourism Organization
(CTO) Canada at the Governments of the Caribbean Black Tie Gala on Friday,
September 28, 2007 at the Liberty Grand in Toronto (approximate retail value
$400).
Grand Prize winners must obtain a valid marriage license no later than Tuesday, September 15, 2007 or prize will be forfeited.
The prize must be booked by August 31, 2007. Prize is subject to availability; blackout dates and restrictions may apply. The Sponsors make no warranties with regard to any prize. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions of prizes allowed by winner, but Sponsors reserve the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. Prizes are not redeemable by winner for cash value. Depending on the package selected, local ground transportation, taxes, meals and service charges may not be included. Transportation to Toronto for the honeymoon flight is not included. All other expenses and incidentals, such as telephone, are not included. Come back on May 31 for a full description of the honeymoon packages and the approximate retail value of each.
Acceptance of any portion of the prize constitutes consent by winner to the use of their ‘One-line’ contest entry description (The lucky couples ‘one-liner’ may be used in future advertising for the Caribbean Tourism Organization) of the Caribbean along with their name, likeness, winning entry and/or photograph for editorial, advertising and promotional purposes without further compensation (except where prohibited). This applies to pictures of the wedding service, reception and (limited) promotional photographs while on the honeymoon.
This contest is not valid to residents outside Canada, in Quebec or where prohibited, and is subject to all federal, provincial and local laws and regulations. No substitutions for the wedding or prizes except by Sponsors, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be submitted. Travel to Toronto for the wedding and/or honeymoon departure, income and other taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winner. Entrants agree that Sponsors, their directors, officers and employees shall have no liability with regard to the conduct of the contest and/or the awarding of or use of the prize and hereby waive any and all claims against Sponsors arising there from.
The winners will be announced on the Canadian Bride and Caribbean Week websites sometime after July 31, 2007.
